Cookie Policy

Effective Date: May 21, 2020

Summary

"Celmatix,” “we,” “us," and “our” means Celmatix Inc. and Celmatix Clinical Laboratories LLC.

This cookie policy explains what cookies are and how we use them on our websites. We encourage you to read the full policy so that you can understand what information is collected by us using cookies and how that information is used.

For the purposes of this policy, the term “Websites” collectively refers our websites which include: celmatix.com,myfertilitycompass.io, saythefword.com (wesaythefword.com), joinastudy.celmatix.com/fertilitypotential, studies.celmatix.com/biome, and their subdomains, and the term “Services” collectively refers to the online services that we operate via these Websites.

This cookie policy does not apply to other websites and services of companies that Celmatix does not operate, or to individuals that Celmatix does not employ. We may update this policy at any time by posting a new policy. Your access and use of the Websites and Services are subject to this policy, our Privacy Policy, and to any separate Terms of Use for any of the Websites and Services that may be in effect from time to time. For individuals outside the European Union, by accessing our Websites and Services, you agree that we can place cookies on your device in the manner described below.

What are cookies?

A "cookie" is a small piece of data (text file) that a website – when visited by a user – asks your browser to store on your device in order to remember information about you. Cookies can allow us to recognize your browser or device and tell us how and when pages and features in our Websites and/or Services are visited and by how many people. A cookie can record how you interact with a website so that when you revisit that website, it can present tailored options based on the information stored about your last visit. Cookies can also be used to analyze traffic and usage for advertising, marketing, and development purposes.

Cookies are classified on their origin. Cookies that are set by us are called first-party cookies. We also use third-party cookies – which are cookies from a domain different from the domain of our Websites you are visiting.

Cookies are classified by their duration (how long they are stored on your computer):

  • Session: These are only stored on your computer during your web session and are automatically deleted when you close your browser – they usually store an anonymous session ID allowing you to browse a website without having to log in to each page, but they do not collect any personal data from your computer; or

  • Persistent: A persistent cookie is stored as a file on your computer and it remains there even when you close your web browser. The cookie can be read by the website that created it when you visit that website again. Persistent cookies last until they expire, or you delete them.

Cookies are also categorized by their purpose:

  • Necessary/Essential cookies: These cookies are essential to enable you to use our Websites effectively and cannot be switched off in our systems. These cookies do not gather information about you that could be used for marketing or remembering where you have been on the internet. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of a website will not then work.

  • Non-essential cookies: These cookies are not necessary for the website to function, but serve a variety of functions such as:

    • Performance/Analytic cookies: These cookies enable us to monitor and improve the performance of our Websites. For example, they count visits, identify traffic sources, and see which parts of our Website are most popular.

    • Functionality cookies: These cookies allow our Websites to remember choices you make and provide enhanced features. They may also be used to provide services you have requested such as viewing a video or commenting on a blog.

    • Targeting/Advertisement cookies: These cookies enable us and/or our third-party service providers to record your visit to websites, the pages you have visited, and the links you have followed. We would use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests.

Cookies are widely used by many websites and do not harm your device.

We may be required to obtain your consent for all non-essential cookies used on some of our websites. You can block cookies (including essential cookies) at any time by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block essential cookies you may not be able to access all or parts of our site.

How do we use cookies?

We use essential cookies to ensure that our Websites and Services function properly and, when applicable, to obtain consent to collection of information via cookies.

We use cookies to track your use of our Websites.

We use the information collected by cookies to create a profile of your activity that enables us to understand how you use our Websites and Services. This information helps us to develop and improve our Websites as well as products and/or services in response to what you might need or want.

Depending on the website, we may use third party tools such as Squarespace Analytics that use the information obtained by cookies and possibly other techniques (pixel tags or local storage) to track information about visitors to the Websites and Services. These third-party tools capture usage and volume statistics as well as geographical location data to compile usage reports and maps for optimization and troubleshooting purposes. More information on Squarespace Analytics can be found here.

We do not share your profile with third parties other than as set forth in our Privacy Policy or in any Policy or Terms of Use for any of the Websites or Services that may be in effect from time to time.

You can find more information about the individual cookies we use for each website and the purposes for which we may use them in the tables below:

Other Potential Sources of Information

Local Storage

Local storage allows us to use a tiny bit of space on your machine to store information, in much the same way as cookies. We use this to store information which, we feel, enhances your journey through the Websites and Services by remembering previous actions and making them default for the future. All local storage is persistent and does not have a set date of expiration.

Pixel tags

Pixel tags (which are also called clear GIFs, web beacons, or pixels) are small graphic images (usually invisible) that can be embedded in content and ads on a webpage that track usage of that website and effectiveness of communication. These pixel tags can then be used to recognize our cookies and to monitor certain user interactions with the Websites. The pixel tags we use do not register any user data.

Opting out

If you set your cookie preferences on celmatix.com, you can alter your cookie preferences for celmatix.com at any time via the “Change my cookie consent” link below and selecting or deselecting the type of cookies you permit:

Please refresh your page to ensure that the new settings have taken effect.

If you wish to restrict or block cookies, including those that are set by Celmatix or third-party tools it uses, you can do so through your browser settings. The “Help” function within your browser should tell you how to do so. If you chose to block cookies, certain features of a website may not be available or operate as desired.

You may opt out from the collection and use of data through your mobile device by at any time using the opt-out features of your device or through the settings function on your mobile browser or device. These are typically located in the settings menu on your device.

For more information, you may review the Federal Trade Commission’s guide to opting out of online tracking for computers and mobile devices here. The Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) also offer opt-out tools to opt out of the collection of data online and the display of ads for targeted advertising. More information about the DAA’s AdChoices program and its opt-out tool are available here. You may access the NAI’s opt-out tool here.

Opting out will not necessarily prevent you from seeing ads (including our ads); it simply means that you will no longer receive ads that are specifically targeted to you.

Do Not Track

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that you may set in certain web browsers. DNT is intended to allow you another method of informing websites and services that you do not want certain information about your website visits collected. We do not currently respond to DNT signals.

You can view our Privacy Policy using this link. If you have any questions about the cookies that we use, feel free to email us at info@celmatix.com.
